Annie Selke’s new collection is a ‘Masterpiece’

CRANBURY, N.J. – After years in development, the Annie Selke Company has released its new Masterpiece Collection of nine rugs handcrafted in India that offer a new take on traditional Oushak designs.

“Annie Selke has been a trusted resource for home design and inspiration since the early 90’s’,” said Neil Hegwood, Annie Selke chief merchandising officer. “As trends and tastes have evolved so has the brand. The Masterpiece Collection is not created in a production line and the craftsmanship is reminiscent of 500-year-old traditions. This is a convergence of an old craft and a new Annie Selke.”

Hegwood said each rug is made with New Zealand wool, renowned for its exceptional quality and durability. The wool is naturally stain-resistant and provides a soft, luxurious feel underfoot. The Persian hand-knotted technique is a time-honored skill, according to Hegwood, where each knot is meticulously tied by hand by master weavers, allowing the artisans to create intricate patterns with remarkable detail.

The labor involved ensures each piece is unique, reflecting the skill and creativity of the weaver. It takes 3 artisans up to 480 hours to make an 8×10 rug.

The collection includes:

• Ashby Taupe showcases subtle tonal variations and eye-catching, intricate medallion motifs.

• Athens Sky instantly draws attention with its captivating medallion designs and a soothing mix of sophisticated, muted hues.

• Camille Navy brings a perfect touch of style and warmth with its deep navy background that contrasts with the taupe medallions and border.

• Dara Cream is a modern take on a timeless style, with highly intricate geometric designs in sophisticated tones.

• Kendra Sky is a refined blend of olive, taupe, and sky blue that captures the eye with its timeless, classic design.

• Lila Grey combines sophisticated colors with an intricate medallion design, and a lush, soft texture that feels luxurious underfoot.

• Nora Natural features intricately crafted medallion designs that will draw the eye with versatile colors and a design that feels both timeless and fresh.

• Iris Multi is set against a sophisticated gray backdrop with vibrant pops of yellow, blue and pink.

• Mara Sky is a wool rug that offers an elegant, botanical design and palette of soft blues and pretty pinks that combine with a subtle color palette.
